1 Peter 1:3-4  3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

His beautiful excellence draws us near and grants us many promises so that we may be fashioned into His superior character and likeness. As believers of Christ, we have been washed of our transgressions and set apart from the ever-present evil world. Through our knowledge of the everlasting Father, we are granted these most precious promises!

God’s Timing     by Charles R. Swindoll Exodus 2:11–14  - 11 Now it came about in those days, when Moses had grown up, that he went out to his brethren and looked on their hard labors ; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. 12 So he looked this way and that, and when he saw there was no one around, he struck down the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 He went out the next day, and behold, two Hebrews were fighting with each other; and he said to the offender, “Why are you striking your companion ?” 14 But he said, “Who made you a prince or a judge over us? Are you intending to kill me as you killed the Egyptian ?” Then Moses was afraid and said, “Surely the matter has become known.”

I’m convinced Moses was doing more than grandstanding. I believe he was absolutely sincere. He didn’t see himself murdering a cruel slave driver as much as courageously striking a blow for God’s people. The desire to do something right overcame him. His problem? He dedicated himself to the will of God, but not to the God whose will it was.

Let that thought sink in. You and I can become so dedicated to the will of God, we can be so driven by a blind sense of purpose, that we might inadvertently take matters into our own hands and leave God completely out of the loop. Been there, done that?

Did that cruel taskmaster need to be punished? Yes. Was it wrong to beat that Hebrew as he did? Certainly. But when Moses stepped in and began his own Operation Deliverance, he was energized by the flesh, not the Spirit.

How easily this can happen to good people, to men and women with the highest motives and the best of intentions.
God waits for us to seek His counsel. When we act without discerning His timing, we lose the smile of divine favor. He will not bless what He has not ordained. We may truly sense that God has something for us to accomplish in a certain area. But if we aren’t vigilant, if we aren’t daily humbling ourselves before Him, seeking His face, discerning His timing, operating under the Spirit’s control, we may push and force our way prematurely into that place where God wanted us, but you will not have arrived in His own time.

PTO Meeting – TONIGHT –  7 PM @ ACS
ACS Families-I can honestly say that being asked to start the ACS PTO two years ago and serving as the PTO President for the past two years has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. I have had so much fun, made some wonderful friends and have had the blessing of being involved with your children.

Unfortunately, the terms of the PTO officers is two years and as a result I will be stepping down as President at the end of the school year.  That said – you couldn’t run me away from being involved – believe me, I stil plan to be very involved – just at the direction of our new PTO Board.

If you are interested in nominating anyone or yourself  (or just want more info as to what is involved) for the PTO President, Vice President or Treasurer role – please send me an email.  We need to have these three positions elected by the end of the school year so please respond quickly.

I can promise you – just as in any area where God has called you to serve, you will be blessed far more than the blessings you are providing.

Your sister in Christ,

Anna

Prayer Needs Answered Prayers

Pray for the David Lee and family – My uncle has undergone a double lung transplant. He had idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and was within 12 hours of passing away after a few years of battling this illness. The transplant went well and he was doing well but took a turn for the worst last night. They are giving him less than a 10% chance at survival and have put him on a heart/lung machine to help reduce the swelling in his new lungs.
Update Michelle Powless-Belmore and family.  Michelle is still in hospital.  Tom says she is improving daily.  Still unsure about the date of her release from the hospital.  Continue to PRAY for this family.
Evelyn – ACS postman’s wife is having surgery TODAY!  Pray for Doctors and her recovery.  ACS reaches more than just ASC students and Staff.  ACS is a LIGHT in our community!!  Pray for Evelyn.

THANK GOD, WE ARE ON OUR WAY!
Shared by Sis. May Capistrano2Corinthians 3:18 “And all of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him and reflect His glory even more.”

We may not be where we need to be as of yet, but thank God we are on our way! We are becoming what God made us to be. All the things we desire will not take place overnight. It will take process just like anything else.
If we continue what the Word of God says, we will get there. The other keys for this are PATIENCE, and self control.

We are the righteousness of God in Christ. As we continue to study God’s word, we are continually being transformed into His image from one degree of glory to another. The position we desire requires humility. It requires motivation, and the most important thing is it requires encouragement.

Being a Christian is not living with milk and honey. We will face trials and tribulations. At the same time, with trials here and there, we need somebody to back us up, just like the words say in James 1: 2-4 “Whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.”

The Christian life is a long distance run. We need to pace ourselves, to persevere, and most of all, to finish the race. We need to humble ourselves as we face victories, we are nothing without Christ in us. We reached this far because Jesus Christ our Lord is in us.

Golf Tournament: THANKS to ALL of YOU!!  Give God the Glory!

Our Generous God

The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself. —Proverbs 11:25

The amazing thing in the story about the Feeding of the Five Thousand is how the miracle was done. God could have done it any way He wanted. It could have rained bread from heaven. But He did it through natural means. The supernatural worked through the natural.

Jesus told the disciples to have the multitude break into groups of 50 and 100. Then the Bible tells us, “And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all” (Mark 6:41). The disciples kept distributing the food, and it multiplied as they gave it out.

Jesus said, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38). God will bless generosity. Proverbs 11:25 says, “The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.”

As we give, God will bless us. As we distribute, God will give us more. Matthew 14:20 offers this detail about the Feeding of the Five Thousand: “So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.” Jesus gave them more than they needed. And this reminds us that we serve a generous God.

Are you willing to pass on what God has given you? Or, are you trying to hold on to it all? As the disciples distributed the food that God had multiplied, everyone was blessed. Everyone had their part. God gives us gifts. We need to use them for His glory.
